Do you have a family member or friend incarcerated in the Kingston, Ontario area?
Calls From Home is a CFRC radio show that connects friends and family with their loved ones behind Kingston’s prison walls through the power of community radio.
Friends, family, and anyone supporting those incarcerated can call our toll-free number from anywhere in Canada at 1-800-440-5219 and leave a voicemail message to their loved ones. All messages will be broadcast over the airwaves on the last Wednesday of each month from 7-8pm EST for those behind prison walls to hear. You can tune in at 101.9fm in Kingston or worldwide at www.cfrc.ca.
The CFRC radio signal carries into seven prisons in the Kingston area and one in New York State. (Which prisons?)
We seek to provide messages of love and support to those behind prison walls. If you have a loved one you wish to send a message to, please call our toll-free number at 1-800-440-5219 and record a free greeting, song request (or play/sing one yourself!), or poem and let them know you are thinking of them. You can also e-mail in your messages and requests to cfrcprisonradio@riseup.net or write us a letter.
General messages of support to prisoners in Kingston are welcome and encouraged, too!
Calls From Home is a part of CFRC’s Prison Radio (CPR) program that broadcasts weekly content about prisoners and prison issues every Wednesday at 7pm EST. The segment is based on the Thousand Kites Calls From Home program in Kentucky.
On Wednesday, December 21st and Wednesday, December 28th, Calls From Home will be airing special holiday shows. Call and leave a holiday voicemail message (and song request!) to be broadcast in time for the holiday season. Be sure to record it by the 21st or 28th to ensure it gets played on air.

OH, SHUT UP. WE’RE NEVER GETTING OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK ANYWAY.
OR DID YOU FORGET THE GIANT BURN HOLE IN THE HALL CARPET FROM YOUR LITTLE ‘HASH ACCIDENT’ IN DECEMBER? WE’VE ALSO WHEAT PASTED EVERY PAGE FROM CATCHER IN THE RYE TO THE LIVING ROOM WALLS. WE’RE ART STUDENTS, AND I REFUSE TO LIVE IN AN APARTMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE A SUITE AT THE COURTYARD MARRIOTT.
NOW PLEASE STAND IN THE DOORWAY AND TELL ME IF MY COMPOSITION IS BALANCED.
